Call for Submissions: Gubns Pop-up for London Design Festival & Open House Festival
Open Call to Submit Work for Gubns' Exhibition with Of Architecture
Hi there,
Been a while since our meet-up at London Fields! A few months back, we had a potluck picnic with a show-and-tell that brought in infused flowers (@fleursdhiver_), ceramics (@nyimamurry) and 3D wearables (@bodyamplificationdevices). It got us excited to see more creative work so we’ve been thinking about bringing back the Living Room series, this time with a twist to challenge makers with a unique brief and a platform for greater exposure…
Gubns Pop-up Exhibition, September 2024
We’re excited to announce the next evolution of our Living Room series: pop-up exhibitions of exclusive artworks in special venues. We’ve teamed up with Of Architecture to host our next showcase in their office, and we’re partnering with London Design Festival and Open House Festival to make this next exhibit accessible to more design enthusiasts or anyone who appreciates well-designed, limited edition art pieces.
This pop-up will coincide with the launch of Gubns’ online collections, giving architect-makers the opportunity to create, exhibit and sell both in-person and through our website. Our mission from Day 1 has always been to support architect-makers by providing a platform to showcase niche artworks, spark collaborations, connections and community. We hope this next stage of Gubns will also be the next stage for makers…
Gubns Open Call, Submissions Due 16.08.24
Introducing Of Architecture, host of the next pop-up exhibition.
Of Architecture is an architecture studio operating between London and Seoul. Led by James Mak and Jongwon Na, the office has designed spaces such as SABA on Kensington High Street - the UK's First DIY Korean Ramen Bar - and Namhae Local Food Center and Yeonsu Youth Centre, both currently under construction in South Korea. Of’s canal-side studio in Haggerston will be converted into an exhibition space to host this pop-up.

Open call for submissions: the theme and brief.
The theme for this Open Call is “Beyond Blueprints” and it will take you back to your drawing board, literally. We are seeking artworks that reveal how your architectural background informs your craft and more specifically, how the act of drawing in 2D has inspired or influenced your work in 3D. There’s more to it, so make sure you read the brief in full here.
